New patent strengthens NXT TEC.’s market position, a milestone for the company’s strategic expansion in the U.S.
The patent has been granted for the advanced NXT® Spacedeck®, a building technology for high-rise construction providing a fast and effective solution to meet the demands of urban development.
The patent follows NXT TEC.’s recent announcement of its U.S. partnership with M2i Global, which will support its entry into the U.S market.
12th November 2024 - NXT TEC., a leading building technology company, has today announced its latest U.S. patent for the advanced NXT® Spacedeck®, a breakthrough prefabricated floor system set to transform construction. This development follows NXT TEC.’s recent partnership with M2i Global, a key player in the strategic minerals sector, which supports the company’s expansion into the U.S.
As part of the innovative NXT® Building System, the NXT® Spacedeck® optimises energy consumption and accelerates construction for high-rise buildings. Its unique design uses large, hollow balls positioned between reinforced steel mesh, cutting concrete usage by up to 25% while maintaining strength. By eliminating the need for onsite concrete pouring and scaffolding, this technology enhances efficiency and reduces waste.
NXT TEC.’s expanding intellectual property portfolio now includes five patents for technologies in the U.S., which include NXT® Footing, NXT® Void Former, and NXT® Chair, underscoring the company’s commitment to redefining construction for sustainable, large-scale projects. In addition to the U.S. patent, the NXT® Spacedeck® has also received patents in Australia and Europe.
Natasha Di Ciano, Chairman and Managing Director of NXT TEC. commented, “We believe that an innovative and sustainable approach is essential for disrupting the traditional methods of the construction industry, and the NXT® Spacedeck® represents this vision.
“The NXT® Spacedeck® aligns with our strategy to bring fast, eco-friendly solutions to meet the needs of the current housing crisis being faced across the globe. This latest patent strategy is a critical pillar of our plans to expand into the U.S. market, and alongside our partner, M2i Global, we are excited to bring our revolutionary building technology to the United States.”
Major General (Ret) Alberto Rosende, Chief Executive Officer of M2i added, “Solving the ongoing challenges the construction industry faces requires thinking outside of the box – which NXT TEC. embodies. In taking an entirely innovative approach to high-rise construction, NXT® Spacedeck® will revolutionise the building sector both in the U.S. and globally. We’re excited to play a leading role in bringing this technology to the U.S.”
The NXT® Spacedeck® will be utilised in NXT TEC.’s upcoming Wyndham LUX Perth project, an eight-story, 10 level, luxury hotel.
