MEDIA RELEASE: NEW ECO-RESORT IN PERTH’S CHITTERING VALLEY WILL BE A SHOWCASE FOR SUSTAINABILITY

Perth, Western Australia – The rolling hills and native bushland of the Chittering Valley will surround an Australian first, world-class eco-resort that has sustainability at its core. The 6-star integrated resort and estates, with its sophisticated design and an array of attractions, will be a major drawcard for the international tourism market.

The Chittering Valley eco-resort will utilise the innovative Western Australian owned NXT™ Technologies solution, that puts emphasis on low environmental impact, to complete the project at a superior quality and in 50 per cent less time than using traditional building methods.

NXT believes in a sustainable and sensitive approach to development. It is committed to honouring and protecting the environment.

The development will take a staged approach, and with an estimated completed value in excess of A$500 million, it will provide a massive boost to the local economy and establish Chittering as a significant tourism destination. When fully operational it will support over 350 full time and part time jobs and create numerous opportunities to bring new tourism infrastructure and services to the region. In addition, the NXT™ Building System utilises local suppliers and labour at every step of the journey, so those working on the project will learn new skills and a sustainable approach to building.

The project has received Local Planning Scheme Amendment Approval by the Minister for Planning, Rita Saffioti. This was published in the Government Gazette on 25 June 2019. The approved Scheme Amendment will enable a tourism project to be developed on the site, while maintaining its conservation nature.

Natasha Di Ciano, Chairman and Managing Director of NXT TEC. Ltd, said, “We are excited to bring this exceptional opportunity to the region, which is a significant step in the right direction for eco-tourism as it smartly showcases a luxury and sustainable resort development that promotes nature-based tourism, while being ecologically sensitive. We selected Chittering Valley for its unique and beautiful native bushland surroundings, its proximity to the Perth airport and because the site is perfect for the delivery of our unique and innovative building solution.”

Matthew Gilfellon, Chief Executive Officer of the Shire of Chittering, was positive about its potential. “The resort, which will be promoted worldwide to attract visitors from around the globe, will boost tourism in Chittering and the nearby townsite of Bindoon,” he said. “This will make a strong economic contribution in a way that retains Chittering’s environmental values, and will help to create a tourism hotspot.”

The Chittering Valley eco-resort will set a benchmark for sustainable developments that deliver world-class quality and luxury, underpinned by an uncompromising respect for the environment.
